Twin City Minis (Food Truck)
Every Friday (or in this case Thursday, since tomorrow is a holiday) has something called Food Truck
Fridays. It's where a food truck is scheduled to come park in the parking lot for a pre determined designated time period. This week it was Twin City Minis. Unfortunately, I sometimes utilize food to cope with emotional stress. Currently, I am being hit from all directions. So today I decided to go all out. Plus, I mean this is going to be divided between lunch and supper for me. I'm not eating all of this at once. No freaking way. They have a pretty decent menu offering several different flavor profiles. I hope you can see the menu photo below. This menu was emailed to us. I'm not sure what happened to the alignment of this paragraph. Yikes.
Usually, I will go for something with a more complex flavor profile. For example, The Goat was calling my name. But today I was craving something more tame, I went with the Steakburger. I'm not sure what it was they gave me, but based on the description, it was definitely not the Steakburger. Whatever it was, was pretty tasty. I even ate the pickles, which is saying a lot because I do not like pickles on my burgers at all. The meat was a decent quality that was cooked to perfection. The produce was immaculate. Overall, it was a good slider burger.
Now let's tackle the fries. The last time this food truck came last year, I got the Pomme Fries which were pretty tastey. This year I branched out, got brave, and tried the Samurai Fries. According to the description, it is topped with Wasabi Mayo and Yum Yum Sauce. The fries were definitely not crispy as advertised. They were rather on the soggy side. However, I do not fault the food truck for this. Any fries that have a wet based topping on them are going to get soggy. They tasted really good. I was not expecting the fries to bite back however. I have eaten my share of sushi and know that wasabi is generally hot. I was, however, not expecting it to kick me in the sinuses like it did. It was very sneaky how it did. Did not really hit until after swallowing it. These fries are aptly named.
Finally, we come to the churros. Four small sized churros. They were drizzled with a bourbon caramel sauce. I only ate two of the four. I'm saving the other two for later. They definitely hit the spot.
Overall, if you see this food truck out and about, it is totally worth checking them out.
Yours Truly,
Fatty
