Crazy Dog (Food Truck)

Happy Friday!  Once again it is time for that food review.  I promise that eventually I will get enough content so that I'm not relying on when food trucks come to work.   This week's vendor was none other than Crazy Dog.  When reading the Food Truck Friday flyers posted around work, my immediate impression was that it was hot dogs.  I was kind of like meh..... hot dogs.  However, Crazy Dog is NOT (I repeat, NOT) hot dogs.  Crazy Dog serves street tacos, quesadillas, burritos, Mexi-bowls, burgers, and philly cheesesteaks.   If you know me well (not too many people do) you know that my favorite food group is tacos.  I wonder if I could petition the FDA to add tacos to the official food pyramid list.  Hmmmm.........  Anyhow, I digress.  I love tacos, and what makes a Friday better?  Tacos!   I've pretty much decided that on Fridays I'm eating one meal, and Friday is my cheat day.  These food trucks make it so I cannot decide easily.

So first up, I got an order of pollo asada street tacos.  The tacos were served in a quantity of four.  They were served with grilled onions and peppers on the side as well as raw radishes and a lime wedge.  On top of the chicken was raw onions and cilantro.  Note, I tell them to leave cilantro off my tacos because I'm one of those weird people that thinks cilantro tastes like soap.  The tacos were really tasty.  The texture was on point.  The chicken was seasoned perfectly.  I'd also like to note that they serve the tacos with a ginormous grilled jalapeno (not sure how to get the swishy looking thing over top the n in jalapeno) pepper.  I usually have no issue eating jalapeno peppers.  Key word in that sentence is 'usually'.  I took one bite of that pepper and my mouth was on fire. The tacos were overall delicious.

Let's move onto the Mexi-bowl.  I chose carne asada for the Mexi-bowl.  It was served with rice, pinto beans, cheese, lettuce, and tomato.  While it was very filling, I did not feel that the flavors meshed very well together.  I don't know what seasonings were used, but it tasted a bit off to me.  I have issues with textures; therefore, I was also not a big fan of the texture of the carne asada. Therefore, I did not finish it. I ended up tossing it.

Overall, I think it boils down to one's personal preferences.  Definitely worth giving them a try if you see them out and about.
