Arriba Villa Taqueria and Mexican Food

If this works correctly then you are reading this post on Friday May 10, 2024.  I'm trying to use the schedule post feature.  And if you are reading this on May 10th, then please give me a birthday present by hitting that "follow" button.  Thanks in advance!

It is no secret to the people close to me that I LOVE Mexican food.  If I were a Care Bear, there would be a taco on my belly.  I honestly had zero idea that this restaurant existed.  Sad thing is I pass it everyday to and from work.  It sits at a bit of an odd angle off the road in a one way direction.  I've seen it before, but never once thought it was a restaurant.  I think the building it is in used to be a Pizza Hut based on what I was told by someone else.  I cannot vouch for the accuracy of same.  The outside of the building looks a little rough, but the inside is nice (with one exception that I will cover later).

A few months ago we had one of our monthly work lunches here.  In addition to Mexican food, I also love seafood - more specifically shrimp.  I could probably eat my weight in shrimp if I had enough money lol.  Anyhow,  I had the shrimp fajitas.  Now one thing I was super impressed with is one of the options on their menu that I have never seen anywhere else before.  I can't remember the exact price, but for an extra dollar and some change (I think - don't quote me on that price) you could have cheese dip added to whatever entre you ordered.  I jumped on that offer.  I love drizzling cheese dip over my fajitas.  I hate having to pay full price to drizzle it though.  So I did love that option.   The shrimp were huge.  So you know how at some Mexican restaurants you can really taste the seasonings they use over everything else?  It was not like that.  It was not overly seasoned.  Nor was it overly salted.  It was pretty good.  Price and portion size were both reasonable.

Now, the only thing I did not like was the near death experience in the women's restroom.  They had single occupancy restrooms.  I had just started washing my hands when the light fixture cover (you know those huge things that cover the big fluorescent lights in some businesses) came crashing down to the floor and shattered.  It landed in the spot I had been standing only seconds earlier.  If I had not just used the toilet I probably would have soiled my pants lol.  When I made someone that worked there aware of the situation, I did not even get a chance to finish my sentence because they finished it for me.  This gave me the impression that this happens often.............  Note, I did not say that they said it happened a lot.  I said their response gave me that impression.  So use the restroom there at your own risk unless you want the potential of a concussion to go with your dinner/lunch.  Another side note, the parking lot is not very friendly.  It is tight, limited spaces, and hard to get out of.

Even though I did like the food, I will not be voluntarily returning to this establishment on my own accord.
