Insomnia Cookies
For awhile I have only heard mention of this place. This post is being typed over a week early and scheduled by the way. I have not ever been there, and I was not sure of exactly where it was located. I only had a generic idea. I had ordered a salad for lunch from another place within walking distance of work. On my way back for whatever reason I happened to glance in a different direction. I saw it. I walked over there like okay salad for lunch, cookie for dessert. They cancel each other out right? Plus it's technically my birthday week so I might as well. In my true fashion I was indecisive af. I mean....... so many different choices. I'd like to imagine that the place smelled heavenly, but I can only imagine that part because my allergies still have my nose all stuffy. My favorite go-to cookie choice of all time no matter where they are from is Oatmeal Raisin. Yeah yeah yeah, if that makes me old so be it. But I got brave an also ordered a specialty cookie (they have different price points). I got a Smores Cookie.
I got back to my office and pulled the cookies out of the bag for their photo opt. Immediately I noticed that they were also warm. I had a decision to make. Eat my salad first like an adult, or eat the cookie first. Yeah, I was not an adult today. But I mean they were warm, and I would not want to waste that warm ooey gooey deliciousness by letting it get cold while I ate my rabbit food uh I mean salad. I was good though I only ate half of the Smores one. So OMG my tastebuds were in heaven. I imagine that my pancreas wasn't not thrilled about it in the least. It was warm, it was ooey, it was gooey, it was sticky, it was wonderful. The center was filled with gooey warm drippy chocolate. It was very very sweet. The Oatmeal Raisin one was also yummy. I mean it's a classic Oatmeal Raisin cookie. It was warm and soft, but it tasted like any other Oatmeal Raisin cookie. I only ate one bite of it as I'm saving it for later or another day. Nothing really special about it.
My recommendation is if you visit Insomnia Cookies, don't waste your time on the classic flavors. Go with some of the more complex flavors. Your mouth will thank you. Your pancreas will curse you.
