Wilde Protein Chips
This week's review is not related to a restaurant or a food truck, but rather a food product. One day when I was at Sam's Club with my daughter, we stumbled upon a sample station offering what looked like bbq potato chips. Part of shopping at Sam's is totally about the samples or if you are my daughter, the samples are the highlight of the entire shopping trip. I tried them. They were pretty good. I asked where I could get a bag. Upon further inspection, I discovered that they were not potato chips at all.
These things have the appearance and texture of a potato chip. They have more of a kettle cooked texture of a potato chip, but are not as hard. They are way healthier than a potato chip. They satisfy that craving of wanting to eat chips. The bonus part is though because they have so much protein in them, you aren't sitting there mindlessly consuming empty calories. They are very filling. Now I have only seen these at Sam's Club in person. However, I have not yet looked for them in other places. Sam's Club only sells the BBQ Chicken flavor, which is a bit on the spicy side.
I did see them online on Amazon in other flavors. I have listed the flavors below:
Buffalo Chicken
Himalayan Pink Salt
Sea Salt & Vinegar
Chicken & Waffles
BBQ Chicken
Nashville Hot
I know for me personally, I like having this options available. With the exception of gathering content for this blog, I've been eating a lot better. I like having this potato chip substitute. I don't however, like the price point. As with every thing that is healthy or healthy-ish, the price point is a bit on the higher side.
