Cilantro and Tacos Mexican Street Cuisine
Hello my foodie friends,
It has been a long time. Unfortunately, I am not back, at least not regularly. I have had an insane schedule lately with the end of the school year and the fifty million things that schools attempt to cram into that last two weeks of school. That and juggling other realities of life. So yesterday I did not bring my lunch. I did not have anything to bring as I did not have any time to prepare anything the night prior nor did I have a chance go to Sam's Club to buy my favorite bagged salad kit that I eat almost every day. So what's a girl to do? I ordered DoorDash. Yesterday was Tuesday so as we all know what Tuesdays are......TACO TUESDAY!!!!! I wanted chicken tacos, and I also wanted esquite. If you are not familiar with esquite, it is basically Mexican Street Corn, but not on a cob. It's creamy, cheesy, and depending on where you get it has a variety of spices. I would totally label it a comfort food.
So, there were two local places I found on DoorDash that had esquite. I have never ordered from them before. It was Cilantro and Tacos LLC on DoorDash which I later discovered is Cilantro and Tacos Mexican Street Cuisine. I always tell restaurants to leave cilantro off my food because I'm one of those weird people where it tastes like soap. So anyway. The chicken tacos were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was tender and flavorful. They did use a lot of onions to top it with. Good thing I have my own office away from other people because I'm sure I had dragon breath afterwards lol. The equite was good. However, I would not rank it as the best I have had. There were two large clumps of cojita cheese on top that had not been incorporated into the rest. It had a bit of a vinegary zing to it as well. I'm not sure what that would have came from. But overall it was pretty tasty. I do recommend them overall. Pictures below.
